pain in my back and under the ribs

i have recently started gettin twinges and pain in my upper left side of my back i have had that for about 2 days and the pain comes and goes. I am also now gettin pain underneath my ribcage which is also on and off. I just want to know what it could be

I have been experiencing the same pain for over a year now and all the doctors tell me is that it is a strained muscle but it should not still be hurting. I hope you get better soon because this pain has changed my lifestyle, I am unable to do the things i use to do. Does your pain get worse after standing for a long period of time?

i have been experiancing the same thing but my pain is travelling around to my lower belly,i put it down to my IBS,but it is freaking me out as someone said it could be a gallstone

Have you done any strenuous work or lifting recently?

Have you been recently ill?  i.e. cold, upper respiratory infection
