Different insurances and non-profit ogranizations offer smoking cessation help. I've never heard of the 24hr patch though. I did the patch a few years ago, it worked for me. I picked up smoking again on my own. The reason I haven't done it again is because it's expensive and my isurance is different. I smoke when i am really stressed, on my work breaks and in the car. I smoke at all the usual stops too, first thing in the morning, before/after meal, last thing before bed. Its the work breaks that are hard and driving in the car is the worst! The worst. I'm stressed today, so I am having a really hard time...ok..I need ta get off this computer and stop talking about how stressed this paper is making me and write it!!!!
I'm curious, over here in the uk we have a couple of things to help us quit ok? I am using the 24hr patch that helps and i go to a smoking cessation nurse for advice,so can i ask what help you can get ?
Not to mention all the money we save!!! I'm so excited that I don't EVER have to go to that damned smoke shop anymore!! Freebird what a GREAT idea starting an exercise program now! (Just when we need it) I am walking more. We all deserve to do something special for ourselves-for excellent work! Good luck and God Bless
I can go hours without smoking because I don't smoke in the house.... and I don't smoke at work because I work from home LOL..............I smoke as a reward system. When a project is completed...........Now don't think for a minute I don't smoke a lot. I have plenty of reasons to reward myself. I use to smoke a pack a day. Mostly in the mornings and in the evenings,mid-day with Cafa Vienna or Tea. Before and after dinner, a drive in the car....... I have been trying to quit since mid January. The longest I've gone is 10 days..........It's been harder this time, I can not get a handle on Just For Today...........I think in terms of forever and I freak.
My P-90-X came in today.............body building program. I don't have any weight to loose, just toning and sculpting..........Hard Core............Looking forward to it. Getting rid of some stress.
@drifter....we have an above ground...2nd. one since 92' LOVE IT.....
So those are some of my triggers............Smoking is gross, unintelligent, harmful, and keeps me in bondage, robs me of time, offends those around me...............shall I go on.....I am way smarter than this, knowing all the health complications and yet..................I crave.Nicotine is addictive.............so as a recovering addict....I try to work a program on it. When I make it through one of those"I'm smoking moments" and then don't I really pay attention to the crave did not last as long and it really was managable..............So Today I choose not to smoke............
Oh man ALL OF THE ABOVE!!! lol
but I guess especially when I feel stressed, thats the worst :-)
i like to smoke after eating, between houses when i work- we clean pools house to house :)
when I get stressed out or upset is still challenge for me.
The times hardest for me not to smoke, is after I eat, after sex, when I wake up, if I drink (which is rarely), and when I am bored or stressed.
First thing in the morning, then I remember that I quit and get pretty depressed for awhile.
Ater meals, I will not eat until I'm full any more it makes me want to smoke, At work after driving a stressful route, I don't get that reward anymore, now I get some exercise and lots of water! I want to smoke right now badly but I will go to bed instead. Most of all if I get mad I know I will use it to smoke again so I'm trying not to get angry!! Those are mine and a whole lot more! Good Luck to my fellow quittier and if you thinking about it, please join us!!!
Which times are hardest for you?
