Hiv risks

I’m a little confused after reading through risks from people on this site like curfew, anxiousnomore, and guitar.  You all, with such conviction, state the only way to get hiv in adults is through unprotected vaginal, anal, or injection drug use.  Are any of you doctors or in the medical field to give such strong answers?

Dr handsfield and dr hook, who are now on asktheexperts website, don’t even say that.

There are documented cases of oral sex transmitting Hiv.  The documented cases are from the giver getting it.

You state, very convincingly, that it’s only transmitted to people through anal, vaginal, or drug use.  I’ve even read some say here that in men it has to travel down the urethra.  That’s partially true.  Generally, the mucos membrane of the head of the penis, especially uncircumcised, is how it also infects.

I’m just trying to get a clearer understanding because I read anxiousnomore state strongly if you didn’t do any of the 3 move on with your happy life.

Masturbation is zero risk for HIV or any STDs.

The same info applies to oral sex on a woman as oral on a man.  If you believe you're going to be one in a million, then the only course of action for you is to avoid oral sex with anyone of unknown status.

Well I had oral sex
Done to me by a stripper about 20 mins., I fingered her quite deeply, she fingered herself, she touched my penis.   I went to my doctor and got tested for all stds including hiv and was negative 18 days after the exposure.  He told me to move on with my life.

There was never any penetrative anal, vaginal sex. Not even close.  My penis was never near her vagina or anus.

So I’m
Trying to move on with my life and saw people in here say if you didn’t do the 3 anal, vagina, or injection drugs than move on.
Zero people have been infected from RECEIVING oral sex.  Zero people  have been infected by fingering - either receiving or giving, and zero people have been infected by someone touching their penis.  Your doctor is right.  You should move on with your life.
I meant to say her hands came in contact with the head of my penis after she was fingering herself, she did masturbate me for a a minute or so.

Ok I will move on.  Hiv anxiety is real, I’m having a tough time.

Thank you for replying I just need/needed reassurance .
You will be fine just like the millions, if not tens of millions, of people that had the same encounter with an hiv positive person over the last 40 years. That is why the stripper and sex workers don't require condoms for oral.
Another comment deleted.  Hmmm
Your question has been fully answered, and no one here suggested you have had any risk for HIV.  There is no further information that can be added to this thread without being repetitive.  Please review our forum policies: https://www.medhelp.org/posts/HIV-Prevention/Posting-Guidelines-for-HIV-Community---Please-read-before-posting/show/2952928

You forgot to mention that they also do not recommend testing after an oral event.  This is due to the fact that the number of infections via this method are statistically insignificant.  In the same vein, we know that at least 30 people have been killed by vending machines, yet there are no precautions recommended when using a vending machine.

I did cover this point in my journal entry:
"Giving oral sex – this presents an extremely low risk.   Expert HIV physicians Drs. Hook and Handsfield state:  “The risk of HIV, if your partner is HIV-positive, is around 1 in 10,000.  That's equivalent to giving BJs to infected men once daily for 27 years before transmission might be likely.”  Neither recommend testing.
Here is a study of serodiscordant couples that supports their recommendation: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/12045500"

If you  are personally concerned about giving oral sex, insist on condom use.

I just want a clear understanding of transmission.   That’s all.  Not hear to argue.  I’m heterosexual But even oral on a woman is no risk?  Math ration with vaginal fluids on penis?

Is it really just anal, vaginal, and injection of drugs?
