Hello. I suppose that many people have posted messages hoping to get reassured, so I will try to stick to the point with my questions:
1.Four weeks after having unprotected intercourse with a former boyfriend, I took an HIV antibody test as I had found out he was not at all an entirely reliable or responsible person (nor was I, judging from what I did). One week after exposure I developed a cough, sore throat, but no fever (the highest was 37.2 C during ovulation). Since my gyneco also diagnised me with candidiasis (that was the only thing showing up after secretion test) and an inflammation of the fallopian tubes, I followed a treatment including ciprofloxacinum, an antiinflammatory drug and something against candidiasis. I did not get my cough treated since I had talen to many antibiotics in the past months and they had aggravated the yeast condition too much. After 10 days of treatment, the throat itself seemed to be doing better and the cough was apparently gone, but once I was off the medicines, the cough came back and it has been already 4 weeks of no improvement apart from a less sore throat. After 21/2 weeks from exposure (at the end of the treatment), I developed pain in my pelvic area and my lymph nodes in the area started hurting. Then I had joint pain in my legs first, then in my arms.
2. As I know that a test taken 4 weeks after possible exposure is not relevant, I have two questions:
a. How common are the symptoms above for possible ARS?
b. As my physician has recommended isoprinosine to boost my immunity without having to resort to antibiotics, what is the possible impact of isoprinosine on an elisa test taken at 6 weeks or 3 months (by the timeof the 6-week test, I will have taken isoprinosine 3g/day for 10 days)?
I hope there is someone who could give me some advice on how to handle the situation and I hope everyone who posts a message here will have less reason of concern soon.
Thank you.
A
