Could the 4th gen hiv test fail to detect

Hi medhelp family.i had a hiv test 3 months after exposure.when i got my result it said negative.then i saw the type of test done and it was the 4th gen hiv test. But why did the doctor do that if the forth gen type only detects early infections? Do u think the p24 antigen is no longer detected? And the test gave me a false negative?

I have no idea why a doctor would say that.  The 4th generation test is among the most reliable tests for ANY disease on the market.  If you tested at 3 months post-exposure, your result is conclusive and you do not need any additional testing.  Even a 3rd generation test is conclusive after 3 months.  Your doctor is out of touch with HIV testing.

Wait so... This gen 4 hiv test is conclusive?
ANY HIV test you take at 3 months or more after an exposure is conclusive.  You do not have HIV.
Was it oral, anal or vaginal and did you use a condom?
Thanks curfew. The sex i had was oral
You had zero risk and so  testing was a waste of time anyway. You need a better doc who doesn't waste your time.
HIV is a fragile virus, which is instantly inactivated in air and also in saliva which means it is effectively dead so it can't infect from touching, external rubbing or oral activities. It doesn't matter if you and they were actively bleeding or had cuts at the time either because the HIV is effectively dead.
Only 3 adult risks are the following:
1. unprotected penetrating vaginal with a penis
2. unprotected penetrating anal sex with a penis
3. sharing needles that you inject with. Knowing these 3 are all you need to know to protect yourself against HIV. The situation you describe is a long way from any of these 3.
Even with blood, lactation, cuts, rashes, burns, etc the air or the saliva does not allow inactivated virus to infect from touching, external rubbing or oral activities. Doctors have calculated the risk from what you describe to be less than that of being hit by a meteor, therefore no one will get HIV from what you did in the next 40 years of your life either. The above HIV science is 40 years old and very well established, so no detail that you can add to your encounter will change it from zero risk.
Thanks bro ☺ but just to help me out. Im negative for stds.but i still having a respitory problem. I kinda feel something when i breath. Its hard to explain but its like i cant breath well. And sleeping makes it better sometimes. And i have left obdomenal pain .i explained to my doc but he doesnt seem to find any solution. I feel alone
You aren't a doc and no one here can diagnose you, or even determine if it is just in your imagination from fear. Therefore, your only option is to see a doc if you need a diagnosis.
You had zero risk from this event, and your conclusive tests proves that you did not get HIV.  There isn't anything more our members can say about your no-risk event.  We suggest talking to your doctor about your non-HIV related symptoms.
