Both look for antibodies, the ICMA is better for early detection thats all and YES it is a reliable test.
what is this different antibody tests ... some do ICMA and some do ELISA and some do something different.
Is ICMA which they do in US is that reliable.
Seroconversion can take from 4 weeks to 3 months.
ARS happens 2-4 weeks post infection and lasts 1-2 weeks.
ARS if one has it at all, comes on before Seroconversion.
Teak,
So Seroconversion takes how many days?. do a person gets ARS symptoms before seroconversion after seroconversion ?.
ARS and Seroconversion are two totally different things.
"in general the seroconversion illness would appear anytime after about two weeks and before thirteen weeks."
I think this is not correct also.
before thiteen weeks? ohh no!!!
Sorry, but you did not provide correct informations in your post.
# myquestion2
You did not have a risk, and therefore HIV is not your problem. Try to move on.
Hi myquestion2,
1 - nope, not everyone will get symptoms when they go through seroconversion.
2 - quite easily; there have been people who are hiv positive for 20 years and not suffer any unusual illnesses (medication free as well)
3 - some people report a mild flu-like illness whilst others report being so ill that they cannot do anything for a couple of weeks (sometimes longer). Other people report having a rash appear or oral thrush/sores.
4 - in general the seroconversion illness would appear anytime after about two weeks and before thirteen weeks.
5 - no-one can give you this information - it doesn't exist and if it did and people actually got an answer to this - it would be of no benefit because people don't fit into nice neat percentage boxes. When it comes to evaluating hiv status, it should only be performed by an approved test
