ARS syptoms of common flu

Dear Doctor,

First I do understand that the only way for me to know anything for definite is to get conclusive test result, I am here seeking some good advice just to perhaps help with some sanity while waiting for the required time to pass before I can get tested.

I am a 23 yr old homosexual male, and several weeks ago was lied to by someone I was seeing and unfortunately had unprotected anal sex as the receptor. He did ejaculate inside of me, and within minutes brought up the subject of him being positive, I attempted to clean myself up with the best means I had through up of water and a "doush".

1. Do you feel that these actions could have helped my chances of making it out of this ordeal negatively and being able to just take the lesson and move on with my life?

That encounter was about 3 weeks ago now, and I've recently started expecting Flu-like syptoms.

1. Is it possible to have ARS syptoms in the 3rd week? I've heard its just within the first or second

2. If it is ARS would the flu and antibiotic medications that my doctor put me on have any effect on the syptoms, because I've been taking them about 2 days and feel phenomenally better already

3. I have a great deal of congestion with these syptoms and was told that normally with ARS and HIV syptoms the body will not produce mucus int he normal way to cause congestion, is there any truth to this statement?

Any and all feedback is greatly appreciated
Thanks

First off you are stating you are a gay person in 2008 and you are asking questions such as these that most freshman in high school kids could answer.
1. No, you should have used condoms
2. No.
3. HIV has no specific symptoms and some people never have symptoms at all.

You put yourself at risk so you'll need to test. That will be 3 months post exposure.
