Am I at risk?!?!

I was in the lab and had gotten a 5micro litres of blood from another lab tech. I put the 5microlitre in a 100 microlitre mixture of water and detergent and left to incubate for 2 minutes. Then I had to fully remove the seal from the small tube and as i did some of the liquid containing the blood made it's way on to my nail and I slight bit went under my finger nail(they are short) there was no open wound just maybe artificial cracks.. am I exposed? Anxiety is eating me up.

If you have this level of anxiety and you're working in a lab that includes blood samples, you need to talk to a doctor about addressing your anxiety.  This is a no-risk event.

When it comes to blood, unless you are using a pre-used intravenous needle to inject yourself, into your vein, you aren't at risk for HIV.

Your lab has protocols for this kind of situation, but you didn't have any hiv risk. hiv is fragile and dead in air so the worst that happened is dead hiv touched you.
