All are negative test but hiv test not taken

Hi Sir,

Recently I have given STD test, everthing got negative includes herps, hepatitis, chlamydia, syphilis, gonorrhea, hepatitis C. But the lab didn't do the HIV test because of enough blood they have got. My test were given after one year after a unprotected vaginal sex, no symptoms are observed till now. My question is if I get negative with all these test, will I also get HIV negative. What are the chances? Now I am worried do I need to get that test also to be done?  I appreciate the response

You have to test for each disease, so test for HIV now for a conclusive result. Your partner might have HIV but none of the other diseases.

HIV can only be ruled out through its own test, regardless of symptoms or no symptoms. You had an exposure of unprotected vaginal sex, so your risk was there.

However having said that, magnitude of the risk is not significant from a single, isolated act of unprotected sex with someone of unknown health status. Though the risk is not significant, but it need to be ruled out conclusively.

You may go and get yourself tested any time now, collect your conclusive report and move on with your life normally.

This person`s other thread was about this situation too.
Thanks for the response. I will get that test done. I am so scared now.
That is a good reason to test now because if you are negative your fears will disappear. Good luck.
