Yes.There is a chance. I can't fathom, in this day and time, that a barber is allowed to use the same razor on more than one client!!! I would think that the razor would have to be submersed in some kind of barbacide.

I thought that HIV does not survive well outside its host? If HIV was on the blade before giving me a shave it would have dried in the 15 mins that it sat on the blade. Even is the blood on the blade did not dry I would think that when the barber applied the antiseptic and wiped the blade off it would have eliminated all chances?
mooksmom's reply was incorrect. You were never at risk of contracting HIV from your barbershop incident.

HIV is not alive, it is either active or inactive. HIV is unable to reproduce outside its living host (unlike many bacteria or fungi, which may do so under suitable conditions), except under laboratory conditions, therefore, it does not spread or maintain infectiousness outside its host.
