Is there still a possibility of HIV?

Now I was in a low risk (non sexual) situation of contracting HIV in April 2008.
When I went for the HIV test in June this year the result came out as non reactive!!

Whats my concern is that I was diagnosed with Jaundice(reason being unhygienic food) in September 2008.Jaundice weakens the body's immunity system and has a long term effect.

So is it possible that my body might still not have developed antibodies b'coz my immunity system was weakened due to jaundice.
Or Am I being overly paranoid??

B'coz its been more than a year since the last risk encounter and I have not been in any such situation since!!
Plzz reply!!

PS__I don't have any health problems right now ,,I m just worried!!

You don't need more testing.....you never had a risk to begin with...and NO the presence of jaundice will not affect an HIV test, or the ability to make antibodies.

ifelix.....if you are going to answer posts in this forum...do so responsibly.  It makes NO sense to suggest that this poster be re-tested in a NO risk situation a YEAR after the "encounter".  All you're doing is reinforcing in the minds of an anxious person that testing is needed.

Please read lizzie lou's thread titled "moving on".....I think you could benefit from it.

If your worried just get re-tested your results will be 99.9% negative in my opinion! and you can keep on with your life, Don't stress over it cause you will think that your HIV positive and start having weird symptoms that are caused by your stress itself that weakens your immune system!
