Scared

I'm not sure about this and Ive researched but can't find an answer so I'll ask the experts here.

A girl I was dating and I had unprotected sex a while back. She has since tested negative for HIV ... I know this to be a fact. I've seen the results. However, it has come to my attention she may have been with other men in the time she was with me.

Is it possible she had HIV in her system and didn't contract it but passed it on to me? I'm feeling sick now. Please help.

Okay that answers more to what I was speaking on.

My confusion was more in if her negative result meant I could not get it from her. I didn't know if she could carry it and pass it on but then not contract it herself.

Yes the other girl and I need to TCB for sure.

The first girl couldn't give you something she doesn't have, but the second girl could have.

no we didnt -- and that is obv something we need to do.
So that is a thing to take care of and yes I shoudl have done that before.

I guess my main question was does the negative result of someone you had been with put you in the clear for that specific instance. Because I couldnt find that answered any place.

But if she is negative now...then wasn't she negative two years ago when this occured?

She tested negative a month ago and we havent had sex in two years so am I wrong to conclude she was negative two years ago when we had sex...since she is negative today.

I;m sorry if I'm not following

You do not know how long it was that she had unprotected sex before she tested and received her negative test result unless you were there with her.

Yes, sorry I guess I was asking the risk I was at if it was long ago when we hooked up but she is negative years later. So she doesn't have it and I had read you cant get HIV from a negative partner. That it cant be created.

Now did you say that in your first post? "However, it has come to my attention she may have been with other men in the time she was with me."

Sorry I didnt explain that well enough in the first post.

Our sex was two years ago and her test was last month.

Her last test was a month ago and the incident I am reffering to happened two years ago.

Sorry if that made a difference. So yes her test was far long after we had sex.

The sex was two years ago and her recent test was a month ago.

Her test would not have been conclusive until 3 months post her last unprotected sex.

Is there an incubation period where she could have been contagious even though she doesnt have it now? What is that period?

You need to test. You can obtain your conclusive test result 3 months post exposure.
