Hello there,
I do know that the chances of getting HIV from a handshake is zero % ,but what if I was poke by an object during the handshake? The spot of the poke is the skin in between the thumb and the index finger.(about half an inch downwards). How deep must the poke be at that spot to contract HIV by this method.
Also 5 days after the incident I'm down with fever above 38 degrees (101 F) , cold/flu ,muscle weakness/pain and sore throat that turn into wet cough(Productive). Some of these symptoms I know are associated with ARS. By the symptoms I have , do you think it's ARS?
So what are my chances that I will get infected by HIV and do I need a blood test?
P.S. It was a random guy from the street that shook my hand and during the handshake there was no feeling of getting poke by an object.(Do have marks at the spot and might not be from a sharp object , it could have been from a scratch.)(The scratch might be from something else or from my own fingernail.)
P.P.S. What are chances that I will also be infected by Hepatitis C ( Do have vaccination for Hepatitis B)
