Thanx so much for the advise don't know why but when you dont have the facts straight as was the case before i reached this forum.....my mind was thnking about all the possibilities.........
I know it's not really approved.......but i have also received a post 3 week negative result on a second PCR test....The HIV proviral DNA Detector test which i got done at a highly accredited laboratory......mainly did it to bring my mind at ease......coz i guess stress was casuing a lot of issues....but now i feel much more relaxed.....& better.....
Thanx for everything guys!!!
Thanx Mitch ....... really feeling better now........I dont know why the hotline guys & even the doctor said that there's a possibility...were they just being conservative..this is what we need & it's great to get it on the forum.........scientific truth about the modalities of transmission not somebody just scaring you because you've done something stupid....
Yeah i've done something stupid......but i am repenting for it & will be really careful in the future not to get into such acts & stress about it....
I guess then based on transmission science & history this form of transmission is just not possible.....thanx again for all the help....will stop posting now based on the forum rules...if you have any thoughts or additional suggestions please do reply...will be very grateful & happy to read through them...Cheers !!
yeah you will just get a negative, of all the folks that go to massage parlous and get handjobs, there are going to be a few that coincidentally catch a flu or something a few days or weeks later, look through the old medhelp posts yourself it happens, you will even find some folks that have no risk situations like yours and test right up until 6 months and still can't accept their negative result, trust the information on this forum you are fine, and maybe stay away from sex workers if you are prone to paranoia about these things, you will just end up stressing yourself out again for no good reason.
Thanx Mitch for pitching in...........yeah i've been stressing a lot and more over i had these symptoms around the 2 - 3 week mark which have now dissappeared..they infact lasted for days.........
So you're saying that even if i tested over this incident (which i guess i don't need to ) i'm only gonna be coming back with a negative result...
I have not been other sexually active apart from my regalar companion & we were both tested as part of the course of action before getting into a serious relationship....
It's just that the presence of blood there keeps playing in my mind !!!!
Once HIV is exposed to the environment it will be rendered inactive so you don't need to stress, the person on the Hotline was probably just reading off a script and may not have had any real knowledge of the subject.
Really hoping for a response.......i do not want to put my regular companion at risk...i wish i din have these symptoms it would have made things much easier........
After going through this forum it's really comforting to hear that HIV doesn't generally spread through hand jobs....but just because of the fact that there was visible blood on my open penis i'm wondering whether i could end up being one of those exceptional cases........???
Thank you for your information...Teak.
So you're saying that even though her blood was on my penis it does not pose a risk of infection......
I had called up a HIV & STI hotline & they said because of the presence of blood there was a risk & that freaked me & the doctor also put me through these tests.....
Would you say stress is the real problem here ???
I have a longterm companion.......could i have sex with her safely given this encounter ??? i don't wanna be risking her because i was stupid enough to go in for something or this sort in the first place....
Scratching is not a risk of contracting HIV.
Teak, what about scratching someone with it, or being scratched? Any known cases?
Masturbation has never been a risk of contracting HIV no matter what type of spin you want to put on it.
Holy Gosh..........& i have been embattled in my mind for the last 3 weeks thinking i've been affected.
So you would say even with the presence of blood during this exposure...am i not at any risk ???? there was blood on the penis from the cut skin on her finger...which she in all probability she sustained from the sharp corners of the ring she was wearing....& she had masturbated me quite aggressively......
When i went in to seek the doctor's advise...he told me handjobs are longshots but with the presence of blood that i described...i would need to test & so he put me through the battery of them.....
& from the 2 week mark to the 3rd week mark i've had this worrysome symptoms....i'm on treatment for them...
I really just hope that this non regular type of handjob hasn't resulted in the contraction of HIV if indeed the CSW was infected.....???
Just really need to know if this type of transmission has been recorded ever..& when people talk about reported transmission or transmission of HIV in general do they refer to this in accordance with studies made on sero discordant couples ?? coz what about all the transmissions occurring in the villages & under developed region of the world..many of these transmissions are never recorded coz rarely do people even have access to testing centers there ???
A reply to these queries would greatly help alleviate my stressful condition & also go a long way into educating me......Thanx again teak & waiting to hear from you & all the experts....
Move on. You were never at risk of contracting HIV.
I'm really hoping some of the experts on this forum could help me out with my concerns & thanking you in advance for your replies !
