Scared, please help

I have seen many links to this site from google so I hope someone here can help me evaluate my current condition. I would have to say my encounter is low risk, fingering a girl with a cut on my finger. About 2 weeks after the incident i developed a sudden fever and was bed ridden for 4 days, no diarreah, nausea, swollen lypmh nodes. following my fever i think the infection manifested itself into a middle ear - ear infection. I also developed a late night cough and was having congestion issues. I read somewhere that once a person goes through ARS phases (where their body produces antibodies) they test positive after that. I tested 8 weeks post exposure and got a neg result (would that mean my initial symptoms were not related to HIV?

however about 5 days before my test, i developed what i believe to be are canker sores on the back of my neck (quite a few) which was accompanied by sore, swollen lymph nodes in my neck. This friday will be the 10th week, and i still have the same cough and my canker sores and swollen lymph nodes (now about 3 weeks old) are still here. I also developed a cold sore for the first time in my life 3 days ago.

I have heard that @ 8 weeks 95% of infections are detected, would someone else be able to vouch for this? I would also like to know if any of these "symptoms" are ARS related, or just the cause of seasonal allergies/ cold or flu. I was going to take the 8 week test as conclusive, however these recent problems along with a 2 month long cough have convinced me that i am still sick with something. Can someone please help me?

ARS symptoms do not stay around for that long - they start a couple weeks post exposure and last about 2 more weeks.  This doesn't sound like HIV.

I can assure you that in the "Real World" of HIV, it is NOT transmitted this way. I could go into a long, complex explanation for this but it wouldn't be helpful nor relevant for you. HIV can NOT be diagnosed through ANY symptoms, they mean nothing in the HIV arena. Your 8 week NEGATIVE(not needed for this encounter) further reinforces your status. Get your mind on other things and away from this emerging HIV phobia. Best of luck to you.

Thank you for the swift reply, but i find it hard to believe that there is absolutely no risk. It would that by rubbing an almost open cut, (yes stupid i know) in vaginal fluid carries some risk of transmission. I realized my mistake and took my 8 week test with a grain of salt. I would like nothing more than to move on from this, however the persistance of symptoms that could possibly related to HIV still bothers me. I would like an evaluation on my so called symptoms, and whether or not they are ARS related or have no relation to acute hiv.

NO RISK through fingering regardless of your details.
