Could I get HIV from IPL this way? (read to understand :( )

I nicked myself while shaving my chin prior to ipl hair removal. The technician used gel and a wand to do the ipl on my chin and I pointed out the nick to her - she said not to worry as the wand was alcohol swabbed between clients.

Now about 6 weeks later I have a flu like illness with a rash :( I never get these illnesses.

Question is : could I have picked up hiv from the ipl session????

or what if she forgot to clean the wand?  She also shaved my underarms and some of my bikini area - there were no visible nicks but what if?

Thanks for the reply I hope you are right.  I was more worried about the gel applicator being on someone else's cut then mine etc??

No. HIV is not transmitted from environmental surfaces.
