Queries over making Antibodies

I had a high risk exposure back in December, unprotected sex with a high risk individual - he has had relations in the West of Africa and was also concerned about HIV infection.

I tested 4 months after the incidence. Negative results for Antibodies HIV1 and 2.

I am still experiencing symptoms of something until this very day, my dr has done other blood tests but nothing has been diagnosed.- Symptoms still remaining- Swallon Lymph nodes in left side of neck, groin(both sides), shoulder blade, and 2 small nodes under arms.  I also have numbness in the left side of my face and fleeting pains.

My question is do some people never make antibodies to the virus? but still carry the virus antigen in their blood?  Looking on the net everywhere seems to suggest lymph nodes swelling that continues and numbness is a common sign of hiv infection?

Please advise.

how can you be sure it's not hiv?????

the purpose of hiv tests are to diagnose someone with hiv...show if you are positive or negative.  YOURS SAYS THAT YOU DO NOT HAVE HIV...NO IFS, ANDS, OR BUTS ABOUT IT!!!

You are conclusively negative. You have a concern about your lymph nodes see your doctor. It has nothing to do with HIV.

I know the test says negative, but these symptoms started right after the exposure! How can we be definately sure that HIV is not the case(as my EX partner had some concerns)? He might know something I don't?(I cannot ask him as he is not trust worthy)  especially as antibodies can take time to form.  What test can I have to detect the virus itself? I am only asking this as my lymph nodes have been up for the past 3 months which is very unusual.

Thanks
