likelihood of a 3 week false neg?

i had a high risk exposure
2 weeks after possible exposure i had a sore throat for 1 day which developed into a 38C mild fever that lasted 1 day. felt tired and sore back at night (maybe due to constant stress) for 3 days. lymp node slightly raised and hurt a little when i cough.. dry cough lasted 2 weeks after..

after 3 weeks my antibody test came back neg..
what is the likelihood of a 3 week false neg turning positive? :'(
please tell me..

Awesome.  Retake the test again at 3 months for a conclusive result.

A DUO at 21 days is a good indicator of your status.  Take another antibody test at 3 months.

at 21 days exactly 3 weeks.

I will not allow such things to happen ever again :(
I regret everything I have done and how I put myself in this situation..

I know many thinks 3 weeks is useless.. but can I stay hopeful even with most of the symptoms..?

So you took a DUO at how many days?

In the future, save yourself the trouble and wear a condom.

Unprotected receptive anal sex for 3 seconds (possible precum exposure.) the guy took it off mid way and i stopped him 3 seconds after. Therr was bleeding after so prior to the exposure there were probably some tears.

I confirmed with the testing center, they were using a 4 generation DUO test.

I found on this site stating the 4 generation test window period is 2 weeks..
http://cid.oxfordjournals.org/content/44/3/459/F1.expansion.html

Can it be trusted..?
Im getting my results back in 5 days but this anxiety is killing me and Im not sure if i can hold on to hopes of it coming back neg with the symptoms i had..

the clinic is saying anything tested before 8 weeks does not prove a thing.. are they saying that so that well go back for retests?

with vast number of sites saying 3 weeks is enough to confirm a positive and a vast number of comments saying 3 weeks will definitely be a false neg.. which one should i place more of my bet on?

Duo tests are not yet widely available yet here in the US. Most public health depts use 3rd gen tests. It's a bit less sensitive but really the only difference is that it doesn't pickup the p24 antigen. If you can't find a Duo test, just use a 3rd gen at 6 weeks and confirm your result with another test at 13 weeks.

And just where would one get a DUO test in America? They are non existent at most testing sites..

3 weeks is a little too early for an antibody test. However, if your "symptoms" were HIV, you probably would've tested positive. Take a DUO test at 28 days
