Do you think I'm at risk for HIV for giving oral sex to my ex boyfriend?

We didn't use protection for ORAL sex.  I was worried about possibly having a cut in my mouth from my metal retainer one of the times.  I worry about this as some articles I read online from seemingly reputable sources state that oral sex indeed is a risk factor.

HIV is not transmitted by oral sex.

Thank you much for your answer.  Is this true even when there is a possible cut in the mouth?

By the way, I see how much you help on this forum and I hope you know how much you are truly appreciated...
