Does taking Valtrex later a window period or results for HIV testing?

I’ve been recently tested for HIV with at 4th generation test at 5.5-6 weeks. I take Valtrex daily for oral outbreaks. The dose is 500 mg but sometimes I’ll take 1000 mg just to be sure. Would this affect my test? Some sites and recent studies say it would. Was my test accurate? Could the Valtrex slow the development of HIV?

Do you think a train can appear on an abandoned track? Same risk. See doc or a therapist if still worried. Best wishes/

Your analogy isn’t making much sense either since it is possible to contract when you have open sores or cuts which I’m unsure if I had. I really could use some helpful answers about the Valtrex.
Where in the 3 did it make that claim about sores during oral? Do you think you are the only person in history who did oral with a sore?

If you stand on railroad tracks and a high speed train is approaching and is close to you, you have 100% chance of dying. If you stand on abandoned tracks there can't be any train  approaching, so you have zero risk. Perhaps see your doc or a therapist if you continue to suffer from anxiety over this non-event.

I’m just a little confused still I guess because having oral herpes and giving oral could have put me at risk I thought. Do you think my test was reliable even though I take Valtrex?

I'm sure you know that zero times any number is zero. Otherwise there wouldn't be just 3 risks for hiv.

Alright thank you v much. I wish I could say I feel completely better but I won’t until I get tested again. My mind is one of my worst enemies. You definitely helped tho I really appreciate it. Thank you a lot.

You're not bothering at all. I'm just giving you the knowledge so you can move on from this non-event and future ones.

Thanks I’m just still a little confused. Even with having oral herpes which causes cuts sometimes there was no risk? I had some symptoms that’s why I went and got tested and now I’m just worried about the Valtrex and the window period. I know i took it after the usual window period but w taking Valtrex idk if it delays it.

First step is to ask yourself the question I listed then move on - your questions are irrelevant since the answer to mine is Nope.

Your situation involves personal contact with an object in air  (her hands, mouth, lips  etc. which is not a risk for hiv.) No worries, because you can't get hiv from personal contact except unprotected penetrating vaginal or anal, neither of which you did and you didn't share hollow needles to inject with which is the only other way to acquire hiv. Analysis of large numbers of infected people over the 40 years of hiv history has proven that people don't get hiv in the way you are worried is a risk.
HIV is a fragile virus in air or saliva and is effectively instantly dead in either air or saliva so the worst that could happen is dead virus rubbed you, and obviously anything which is dead cannot live again so you are good. Blood and cuts would not be relevant in your situation since the hiv has become effectively dead, so you don't have to worry about them to be sure that you are safe.
There is no reason for a person to test when they are safe. The advice took into consideration that the other person might be positive, so move on and enjoy life instead of thinking about this non-event. Next time you wonder if you had a risk, ask yourself if you did any of the 3, then after you say "Nope, I didn't" then it's time to move on back to your happy life.
The test had no purpose since you had no risk, so it will always be negative since there is no hiv to test for.

I was the giver of the oral sex, not the receiver. And I get oral herpes. These are rick factors I thought. I’m more looking for an answer about the Valtrex if you had any knowledge of that it would be great. I’m struggling and spiraling very much. Does Valtrex affect the window period? Also when we had oral sex there was no ejaculation. Maybe some precum but that was it. Thank you for trying to answer if you could try and answer again that would be great. Sorry to bother

What was your risk?

Unprotected oral sex. But I have oral herpes like I said. I’m mainly just looking for an answer about the Valtrex and the 4th generation test. I’m wondering if the Valtrex would cause the test to not be as reliable or delay the window period.
