then what is delaying seroconversions..I have read that documented case of seroconversion are from occupatonal health exposure from needle stick injury ( 1990s?? ) You know any incident after that??
Nothing to say, he told you the same thing. HCV does not cause delay in seroconversion.
what can you say about the above quote of the Dr. Hansfield??
I think that was regarding your explaination as who are the late converters..You got it right to those who have cancer but having hepC is not..
That wasn't to you that was to a guy that hijacked your thread.
So your only explaination for those late converters is that they all have cancer???
"Having hepatitis (or any other infection) does not alter the results of HIV tests. Your 83 day HIV test was completely reliable; you don't have HIV."
DR HANDSFIELD
"The information you have received about delay in the time to developing a positive test after being simultaneously infected to both HIV and hepatitis C is incorrect. There is no reason to think that being exposed to both viruses would delay development of positive antibodies to either virus."
DR HOOK
" In any case, almost no medical condition alters the window period for the HIV test, and HCV certainly doesn't do so; even if you acquired HCV simultaneously with HIV"
DR HANDSFIELD
"You heard wrong. Except maybe for advanced cancer, no medical condition, including HCV infection, changes the timing or reliability of HIV test results."
DR HANDSFIELD
NOW MOVE ALONG ! ! !
thanks guys you are all helpfull..
Yes, it was a third generation test. Still one of the best tests on the market. It can distingish between HIV1 and HIV2 which the DUO cannot.
So my test for hiv 1 and 2 antibody is a third generation test?
Accept your negative results then seek therapy
Third generation tests were when they came out with the Combo tests for HIV1 and HIV2 antibodies. Your 12 week test is conclusive.
Whats the first thing to do?
You have a 100% conclusive negative result if you can't accept that then go and see a therapist that can help you.All the best.
how can i recover sir..just by myself..
You need to seek some therapy for your anxiety.
teak what can you say??:)
that's a 4th gen test if u have your 12weeks test with antibody test alone is conclusive and no need to test anymore
Yes but mine is antibodies only even though its 12 weeks after..
Yes sir maybe it's enough..duo test at 28 days and hiv 1 and 2 antibody test ( not sure what generation ) in a hospital after 84 days ( 12 weeks )...ryt?
I believe it as the mid 90s--this doesn't happen anymore because we have tests now that look for HIV itself not just the antibodies to it.
And all their late converters because of the reasons you mentioned??( IV users, chemo patient and hepC )What year is the last one it happened??
