HIV Scare & Anxiety- Tested - have lil swelling in submandibular/cervical lymphnodes
Hi Dr. I hope you are in good health. I have read a lot in your forum about HIV and related scare and doubts people have. Your positivism towards resolving people's doubt have given me lot of motivation to place my queries and doubts to you. To start with, I am from India. I will simply write down my experience in the most understandable paragraph formations.
Exposure: I have a risky encounter on 18th July (approximately 48 days ago). It was a protected vaginal intercourse with a CSW of unknown HIV status. She said she is free from diseases but obviously I can not trust her. Entire session was like, She placed condom of good quality which I personally purchased and then she gave me protected Blowjob for 20-45 seconds, than with the same condom we indulge in Vaginal intercourse of 2-4 minutes. Post this I asked her to remove the condom and put a new one and then she again gave me Blowjob for 20-50 seconds, post that we again indulge in intercourse for 7-10 minutes. While all this happening, I started to have thoughts of her HIV status and risk I am exposed to..... and all of sudden I have lost my interest and have ended the session. I did not ejaculate at all. I was so lost and tensed, that after the session ended, I forgot to remove the condom and wore my cloths and walked away. During this entire event, I never kissed her, nor did she, I never licked/never touched her vagina. Just one time I licked her nipples for 10-15 seconds. As far as i could figure out she was not lactating. While I was still having that condom on, I know that HIV virus can not survive in open air and As soon as it is exposed in air it dies. Also when I reached home, I did perform water test of the condom with which i walked away after that session and that condom was intact and I could not see any leakage at all, however I could not perform this test on the first condom.
Test's done so far:
1.HIV -1 RNA Quantification Viral Load(Not sure about generation) : Sample given on 21st day post exposure and result came on 25th day as Negative/below detection limit. As per assay the linearity range for the test was:120 IU/ML - 1 x 10 ^ 8 IU/ML.
2.Test outcome for HBSAG w\\as Negative and for HCV it was non reactive.
3.Out of Anxiety and HIV scare, I did a RAPID TRIDOT test on 42nd day which came back as Non reactive.
4. I had some uneasiness in neck and sore throat for quite some time, So i met a physician and he prescribed me Ultrasound of neck. The result is as below:
a.)LymphNode: Enlarged left paratracheal and right submandibular lymph nodes are seen measuring 9x6 MM.
b.)Thyroid glands: Multiple nodular lesions are seen on both lobes of thyroid, the largest one measuring on right side was 9x9MM and on left side 8x6MM. I am going for FNAC test for these thyroid nodules.
My Medical History:
1.Viral bronchitis and allergic to pollens,dust,mite and so many things. Very prone to cough and always have to clear my throat. This is with me since over a decade now.
2.Thyroid: T3 and T4 are in limits but my TSH is 8.05 (where prediatric Limit in adults observed as [.27-4.5])
Questions & Doubts:
1.What is my Risk of catching HIV? How risky my encounter was?
2.Can I trust the outcome of HIV-1 RNA of blood sample given on 21st day(result came on 25th day) and outcome of RAPID tridot test on 42 day. For both the test, outcome was negative.
3.is there any connection of my enlarged lymphnodes with HIV? Since last 45 days my body temp never gone beyond 99.4f and that too happen for short period(1hour) of time. I did not consume any medicine for fever. What I observe was the fluctuating fever from (97.6F-99.4F). No diarrhea, no vomiting, no nausea-tic feeling. Disturbed bowel movements for couple of days. No rashes and no swelling in lymphnodes of ARMPIT and GROIN area.
4.That condom which I forgot to remove can transfer HIV virus in my blood. (as far as I remember I had no cuts on my penis and foreskin)
5. Do I still need further testing?
Please provide your valuable suggestions and help me fighting my anxiety and HIV scare.
