Hiv transmission?

Another hiv question?

Hey guys,

I'm a really paranoid person and I need some advice. Okay so today I went to the restroom. When I opened up the small female dispenser, from the side, my thumb kind of pushed hard on the side latches. My thumb didn't bleed but it looked red. I don't think I cut my thumb. I examined my thumb and I didn't see a cut. What if the person before me used and left their fluids on it ?(the latch felt dry)could hiv have gotten in from pushing hard on the latch? Any advice. I'm sorry I'm just a really paranoid person.

No risk. HIV is not transmitted from touch or whatever, it is transmitted from:

Unprotected vaginal and/or anal sex
Mother to unborn/nursing child
IV drug use

Thank you. Ocd? I'll see what I can do. I've always been a very paranoid person. Is this just me being paranoid?

Looking at your two threads, it's obvious you have unrealistic fears regarding HIV.  Do you have an anxiety disorder, like OCD perhaps?

ALL you need to remember is that the ONLY two ways an adult can get HIV is through unprotected vaginal/anal sex with an infected partner, OR by sharing IV drugs/IV drug equipment.  That's it.

You cannot get HIV from exposure to fluids on environmental surfaces, or through casual contact with infected persons.  Even with the presence of cuts, scrapes, etc.

Put this behind you.  If you can't, seek professional help to address your fears and the anxiety.

Double check: but my thumb pressed a bit hard on it. I didn't see a cut but it was red. Still no risk?
