HIV and hepatitis c
Does having hepatitis c effect test results for HIV? I just found out I have hep c. I want to be sure my HIV test are accurate (negitive). I had a RNA at 8 days, 15 days, PCR at 42 days with an antibody, and an oral test at 23 weeks.
Thank you getitright77. I read on line that the hepatitis c virus suppresses the HIV. I just need to know that I do not have HIV. It is bad enough having hep c. The clinic I had the oral test at told me the same thing but it seems that you, Lizzie Lou, and teak know your stuff.
No,Hep c wouldn,t effect your hiv result.Your negative and you don,t have to worry about hiv because you tested negative at 23 weeks.
