HIV oraquick testing user error

The Oraquick Rapid Test (the one that you rub on your gums and get the results in 20 mins) shows up REACTIVE or NON-REACTIVE, correct?  Does it measure if it was able to get an accurate reading?  For instance, if it did not get enough specimen to conduct the test?  Or, does it simply say NON-REACTIVE if it was unable to get an accurate reading.

I took the test at 3 months post-exposure.  I am a rape victim and am having trouble believing my results.  Yes, I am seeking counseling.

Thanks for the help.

At three months your negative and the test is conclusive.

As simple as that, huh. I guess that kind of answers my question.

Hi there-

That is the exact test I took. They explained to that there are windows (where lines can appear) on the test itself. One will show a line that test was functional. The gal who was with me after 20 minutes showed me the one red line on the test that showed the test worked properly and another window where nothing showed up (no anti-bodies) that the test was non-reactive. If you have questions about the test itself, you can just call the place where they took the test, that is what I did.
