Hello, I had a possible exposure to HIV about 3 months ago. I got tested 2.5 weeks after the exposure and the results came back negative. Was this too soon? Should I retest again after 28 days?
If you used a condom, you had no risk. Blood can't miraculously crawl up through the sides the way your are "imagining". Even if it somehow did, the contact with air rendered it uninfectious because HIV can't infect outside of it's host.
You are anxious and that is leading you to believe in irrational theories your mind is presenting you, see a counselor for addressing your guilt or fear. You were never at risk for HIV. You don't need to test.
As previously advised, NO - this is not a method of transmission. The only way you could possibly get HIV, sexually, is by having unprotected anal or vaginal sex. HIV requires unprotected penetration to transmit. There are no "what ifs" that you could add to this event that would make it a risk for HIV. Move on from this event.
