HIV transmission through face shaving razor

I asked my housemate to buy me an eyebrow razor/face razor. I remember it was sealed and I open it. But still I’m always doubtful about her character. I feel that what if the eyebrow razor was opened by her previously in some or the other way. Before using it, I cleaned it with 70% isopropyl alcohol wipe but I don’t know if it’s enough to kill the viruses. I’m scared of hiv.

Few things come to mind immediately.  First is anxiety.  You fear that your housemate is tampering with things like a razor.  Like how does that even make sense. Why would you continue to live with someone if there was any 'real' reason for concern?  But think about this rationally.  Being rational is anxieties enemy. You picture your housemate getting a razor and putting brain activity in how to hurt you with it.  Like she says to herself . . . I know! I'll secretly put hiv on this razor from the stash of hiv I keep and then seal it all up and she'll use it and get HIV!!!!  Can you see the irrational bit of that?  Anxiety is a real disorder and causes our brain to try to lie and trick us.  I know it is hard. I feel for you. I want you to know it is a treatable disorder though.  Talk to your doctor about it.

But alas , even so, you CAN NOT get hiv this way. Air inactivates the virus.  So, there would be no chance of getting HIV from this. The only risks for HIV are to have unprotected vaginal or anal intercourse or to share IV needles to inject drugs.

You  have no worry for HIV with what you wrote.  But I do worry about your anxiety. That has to be hard on you and take a toll.
