Condom burst now afraid
I had protected sex with a prostitute and the condom burst the prostitute noticed and she told me the condom burst .....I dont know how long I was exposed but I removed penis and wore another condom and forgot to wash and washed the head when I was home .....when I woke up the next morning my throat was very sore now I cant eat
Erythromycin is an antibiotic, not Prep or PEP. It's extremely well known to cause really bad stomach pain, so no wonder your stomach is hurting. I won't even take erythromycin anymore because of the stomach pain side effect. And no wonder you can't eat because that pill will make you nauseous. Why did you take pills that someone who is NOT a doctor gave you? That wasn't smart. Unless prescribed by a doctor specific to you, don't take random pills that someone gives you because you never know what they are giving you or whether you could be allergic to it or something!

Just in case it is still unclear, the medication you took wouldn't prevent HIV.
I went at the clinic myself and I was told that hiv symptoms to appear overnight and I was given proper pep to take for 28 days....but I dont know if it will be effective becoz I started pep after 48hours
Usually a clinic won't give PEP unless the other person is confirmed positive. Read all the side effect risks with this medication because it has its own risks and I wouldn't want to take it.

I was given 2 does of pep atazanavir and tenolam for 2 days they said I will come and take the third pill tommorow thursday because they were out of stock......but does it matter if I only take two pills per day not 3 but only for 2 days
A full course of PEP lasts 28 days. Taking it for 2-3 days makes no sense at all.
Medication only works when taken as directed by the doctor and/or label.

Your story is hard to understand. Did you NOT take the proper dosage for a few days? You have to start PEP within 3 days and take the proper dosage every day.
I would not take the risk of PEP, since it is highly likely that she doesn't have HIV because she used a condom, plus it is hard for a male to get HIV from vaginal.

I went to the clinic on the 60 hour and I was given pep but they we short of medication to give me till the 28 days ...I was then given 4 pills for 2 days and I finished them and on thursday I was given another set of pills. 60 ....and now im waiting for my results.....the problem I did with my encounter I forgot to ask the lady about her hiv status...when the condom broke she actually told me it broke seems like she always get condom bursts ...I dont know how long I was in her when the condom burst...do females know that the condom burst instantly or know after a few mins or thrusts...and I changed a condom..its my first year in college and im scared
You still didn't answer the question. Did you have enough pills to take the proper dosage every day, or did you miss a day or two after you started?
I never missed a day or 2 I took the pills everyday like prescribed and I will continue till 28 days but pls can u check my exposure is it worth taking these pills ..but now the side effects are okay but the anxiety and im checking the symptoms everyday to see if pep is wprking
I think your broken condom incident was on Aug 19. You started PEP on Aug 21 but you didn't get enough pills for proper dosage until Thursday Aug 23. Is this correct? Because if it is you are wasting your time taking the PEP because you started the proper dosage too late. You have to take the proper dosage within 72 hours, so if you didn't then you better stop taking it now.

Can you just stick to answering the question because you said they were out of pills so I assume that means you missed some doses? Were you supposed to take 2 pills per day? Or were you supposed to take 3?
I was suppose to take two pills per day I had mistaken for 3 and I never missed a day without taking them since tuesday ....my exposure was sat at night around 12 and I took the pills tuesday thats above 48 hours and less than 72 hours

I dont know where I can find her and how I can get her # but thank u for all the support ....I pray that I will be okay ....but now u gave me good points if she had hiv she wouldnt want to protect me she was afraid that she would also be infected witj tje virus thats y she told me and she gave me anotjer condom ....am I rigjt I will do my conclusive test at 28 days
You can't take the duo test until 4 weeks after you stop the PEP. I would stop the PEP now. She isn't trying to protect you, just herself and the condom costs her money so my guess is she is negative.
Yea thank u for the closure I appreciate ...some of us here have health anxiety and we think about how other people will view us ....it will drive us crazy....becoz no prostitute would want to have sex without a condom and she told me instantly when the condom broke and I removed and wore so I have low risk

I saw the friend of that sex worker today she told me most people here dont have hiv and if she told u she that the condom brkke then she was scared to contract it
If she always uses a condom then she would be negative. Try to relax until it is time for you to test. A duo test is conclusive after 4 weeks, and any other test after 12 weeks is conclusive.

I was so frightened and I was given some pills with a friend he told me they are Prep now my stomach is sore .....I have anxiety
prep is not useful when taken after an exposure. Are you sure it wasn't PEP? What is the name of the pills? How many days after the exposure did you take them, and when was the exposure?
Erthromycin ....its now the second day
So should I not take the pills plus I think my risk was a low risk exposure
