Hep C and HIV

About 4 months ago I shared a needle (big mistake). Since then I have been in no situation which would expose me to any disease. However last week I was diagnosed with Hep C genotype 1. My HIV test came back negative. I'm still worried because I'm wondering if somehow my immune system was so busy fighting the hep c that it didn't form antibodies for the HIV. Should I still be worried I have HIV or is this theory wrong?

Hello,

I have maybe some story like you positive for Hep C antibodies but HCV RNA undetectable, and i'm tested negative at 16 month after incident for HIV antibodies.
The infectionist doctor say me that i'm clear for HIV and Hep C. I wish that help you

Your theory is wrong. You don't have HIV.
