Hiv Duo is Positive - Western Blot is Indeterminate

I decided to test on 28th day. ...

Vidas Duo test and result is :

ELFA (HIV Duo ULTRA -VIDAS)
RESULT (HIV 1/2 Ab) : POZITIVE
PATIENT VALUE: 0.48
Cut-off : Negative <0.25 T.V.
RESULT (HIV p24 Ag ) : NEGATIVE
PATIENT VALUE: 0.00
Cut-off : Negative <0.25 T.V.

then lab. validate with WB (same sample of blood).

the result is : INDETERMINATE (only p31 band positive)

What does mean ? Am I HIV patient ?

Please give me suggestions and ideas....

Inderterminate means not positive. Were you advised that another WB would be done?
But 28th day with an antibody positive but antigen negative...probably don't have HIV.

Concluisve antibody test is at 3 months.

after 15-20 days later. I will re-test with WB.

Can HIV antibody hide p24 band ? Maybe we can not see p24 on WB ?
Is this possible ?
or Does WB show everything ?

3 months post exposure is when you can obtain a conclusive test result including when using the Western Blot.

Like you were advised,an HIV test will be conclusive at 3 months post--exposure.

perhaps your infection was acquired from a different episode hence the antigen part is no longer positive. correct me if I'm wrong. your interdeterminate WB is nothing to worry about now. Wait for 3 months and test again with an antibody test. Take care.

Hiv 1 = positive (0,48) and p24= negative;

is this usual result ?

State your exposure so we can help determine your risk. I don't understand how 0.48 is considered positive. What I know is anything above 1 is positive.

this result belongs to hiv duo.

cutoff = negatif =< 0.25

but our result is 0.48 , means positive.

42.days PCR and DUO result.

PCR Result

HIV1-RNA 0.0 (NEGATIVE)
--------------------------------------------------------
after the PCR result re-test with DUO.
HIVDUO = 0.36 (POSITIVE)
p24 = (NEGATIVE)
-------------------------------------------------------

What does it mean ?

PCR - Negative but Duo still POSITIVE ?
