Hi everyone i had a encounter bout 2 months ago with another guy i had just met. Basically we both did oral sex to each other but we didn't ejaculate. There was probly precum but idk. We finished by masturbating but there wasnt any anal sex or anything. I got like a warm feeling on my right testicle and a sore throat a couple days later but it only lasted less than 2 days except the testicle pain and warm feeling. No sores on me but it stung now and then after on my penis. Went to Dr and he gave cipro antibiotic seemed to help but my biggest problem now is i have a cough that comes and gos and my groin on both sides where my lymph glands would be are little swelled and painful. The pain is stinging/sharp but not all the time. Im very very scared that i got hiv from the oral sex with him. Ive never had intercourse only oral sex but i know somethings wrong! Are lymph glands painful with hiv? There not swollen or painful anywhere else on my body. Other stds? I just got done with 10 days of cipro antibiotic shouldnt that take away any stds i coulda got? No discharge from my penis and no sores have happened. If this is hiv im going to lose it ive never even had anal or vaginal sex ever. ): What is wrong please help.

Hello, your sore throat is not from HIV as oral is not a risk.  Please see a doctor for your symptoms if they persist but you did not risk HIV from oral sex.  We wish you the best and are closing this thread.

You had no risk of HIV from what you've described. Therefore, none of your symptoms are related to this event. The more you dwell on a disease that you were never at risk for, the less of a chance that you'll be able to figure out what's really wrong. Therefore I suggest that you keep working with your doctor to figure out what's going on but you've already ruled out HIV since you did not do anything that is a risk factor.

Hi again im hoping i can get a little help understanding something about oral and hiv. I told u all what happened with me doing oral with another guy. Both ways, no ejaculations. Precum probly but idk. Ive only ever done that time with him and one other when i just got mine sucked by a guy i didnt ejaculate that time either and didnt do anything cept stroke his penis i didnt do oral. So those both happened since September. I still have a sort of pain in my right groin/lymph area sometimes it itches a little to. I think i had 5 or 6 bumps on my face weeks ago they itched a little and went away the same day. Also a small bump behind my ear coulda been a lymph node it went away in a day. I havent had fever. I had a dry cough that went away and random pains in arms/legs and scratchy chest. Sore throat one day that went away the next day but it was like a few weeks from the other symptoms. So does that sound like ars symptoms? My Dr has had me on zpak, cipro and amoxicillin over the last 2 mos. Now i caught a chest cold. I read that someone got hiv from getting oral because the other guy had a little blood in his mouth from a tooth when he sucked him and it went in thru his urethra membrane. Could i have got hiv from being sucked? My penis is circumcized and shaved. Im so terrified that these symptoms are from hiv. I dont understand why this is happening. I am so down that my lifes maybe going to be a mess and im going to be alone for doing just brief oral once and getting it twice. Ive never done anything else. Ever.

Nobody,  can diagnose your cold and  throat from here so you will have to see a doctor..

Many of us experienced the anxiety of the window period.
It does suck.
The expert Drs who used to post here have not seen a confirmed hiv infection from oral.
Search the archives concerning your situation, Hearing it from the Drs will help you understand your risk factor.

Thanks for the replies i appreciate your help getting thru this awful time. I cant help but think im going to be a unlucky one here because of my symptoms but im trying to keep going. See my Dr today and scared that he is going to find something bad and hiv is top thing i keep coming across. Praying ill be ok. Its the cough and lymph pain thats the real scary part. No useful purpose will result from you  asking the same questions over again because that is how anxiety works you up. Read the advice and accept nothing left to discuss about your self-diagnosed "symptoms".

Getting HIV is not a matter of "luck," so you can't be unlucky.  It is a matter of engaging in behavior that is a risk for HIV or not.  Since you did not engage in a risk behavior, you cannot have HIV.  There is no "luck" to it.

Hi and thanks again for ur replys im staying hopeful but the pain in my groin and lymph glands is still there and the cough. Saw Dr yesterday and he took urine but not blood because he didn't think hiv but said to come back if i don't feel better but he gave me a zpak and ill get urine results next wk. Honestly if i didnt have the groin/lymph area pains id totally get on with stuff im just scared. Im not having anymore sex until im with only one person. Again ive never had anal or vaginal sex so i thought i was being real safe. Does anyone know if hiv related lymph glands are painful and only one place on body? Let u all know my results.. Im going to test for hiv next wk if i don't feel better.

Stop trying to make symptoms create a disease you don't have, and you will be on a realistic path. You are presently wasting your time keeping track of "symptoms" that either don't exist or are a different med problem than HIV.

Until you adopt a right thinking approach you will be tormented by anxiety, because your mind keeps flashing from "symptom" to HIV fear - you get no break from the anxiety so it is a vicious circle that you are self-perpetuating by pretending there can't be any other cause of the "symptoms".

Hi everyone. Still having weird things happen to me. Just took last pill of a zpak today but have some discomfort and sometimes a stinging in my right groin where lymph glands are. Stiff neck (lymph?)on left side gos down my back and sone muscle pain here and there. Also pain off and on in right side of abdomen and left side to. Spleen/liver swelling?? So scared still and im sure im gonna be hiv infected from the oral i had. Maybe blood was in there mouth?  Mostly the lymph part has me scared since i read its a sign of hiv. Im usually otherwise a super healthy happy guy! I dont understand why this happened to me and im so scared i cant think of anything else half the time. My penis seems sorta normal and my testicles dont hurt as bad but the stinging pain in my groin is there. If i had like 5 or 6 bumps on my face like mosquito bite looking things a couple weeks ago is that ars rash? They itched and went away by the next day. I keep trying to make sense of this but i cant just dismiss the symptoms i have and had. Would ars be at the same time? Im scared about the brief oral i had. There wasnt even ejaculating. :(:(:( My best friend knows theres something wrong but if i said what i did and that i got hiv from it he wouldnt understand and maybe just leave. Im literally scared to death.

You can't get HIV from oral, so all your "symptoms" have no relationship to HIV. Symptoms can't cause disease, so enjoy your life instead of worrying about some disease called HIV that you can't have.


As far as Stds go, you will have to discuss with your doctor if you think any of your symptoms are real. You had a natural fear that you are dying from HIV, so it was easy to work yourself up into fear frenzy over-analyzing everything you noticed about your body.
So relax and make sure you actually have those "symptoms" as opposed to just imagining them from fear, then  if you are convinced they are real, you might want to see doc.

Thanks for the reply ive been having a rly bad night  ): the pain in my groin is real and my cough to but im praying that ur right and i don't have hiv from giving and getting oral sex. I have 2 broken teeth in back so idk if that matters. My mouth wasnt bleeding or anything when i did that but if theres like a way i coulda got something from my gums or? Seeing Dr tomorrow even tho im so afraid that i have hiv from what i did. If anyone can relate pls say hi. Thanks

Please stop trying to connect your aches to HIV because I can't keep telling you the same thing. There is no relationship so time to give it up and get back to reality so you can have some fun.

People get the flu 3 times a year on average so if you really have those pains you claim, then that is a likely diagnosis.
