Hiv from tears?

I went to an eye doctor today and he checked my eyes with an instrument and it definitely touched my eye like the inside of my eye. He added drops to numb my eyes first and then used the instrument inside the eye. I didn’t see him sterilise anything and after me my mother had to show her so he used the same instrument on her without sterilising either. If the instrument had the tears and blood of a previous patient am I at risk since the eye is a mucous membrane?

STOP reading the guidelines on the FDA website. Those aren't intended for you to interpret. They're intended for health care professionals. If you don't know what you're reading, you will interpret it incorrectly, as you have done. If living on a farm made the tests inaccurate, there would be warnings ALL over the tests.

You don't have HIV. Stop fixating on HIV and move on with your life.

Google says you’d have heterophile antibodies if you have autoimmune diseases and I do have celiac disease which is an auto immune condition. I’m just wondering what effect that could have on the hiv test. I do understand what you are saying but I am just so worried
You are attempting to interpret medical information without an appropriate background.

The only risks for HIV in adults are:
1) Having unprotected anal or vaginal sex, or
2) sharing intravenous needles with IV drug users.

You cannot get HIV from an object, EVEN IF the object has blood or other bodily fluid on it. HIV loses its ability to infect once it is outside of the body.

If in doubt, re-read items 1 and 2 listed above.

You had ZERO RISK for HIV.  There is no information you could add to this event that would make it a risk for HIV.

I do have another question. I got tested for HIV a few months back as I am getting married and wanted to be sure. The result was negative on the 4th gen test. However I was reading up on the test and in the official FDA websites for these hiv tests it says ——: Heterophilic antibodies in human serum can react with reagent immunoglobulins, interfering with in vitro immunoassays.Patients routinely exposed to animals or to animal serum products can be prone to this interference and anomalous results may be observed. Additional information may be required for diagnosis.

My question is, I live on a farm and hence surrounded by animals like rabbit, dogs and cats and horses etc. Does this mean my hiv test is not accurate because I am exposed to animals? Am I not understanding something here as don’t majority of people have pets, does that mean nobody can trust their test results because they are exposed to animals? Really confused about this. Should I have told the lab I have animals and would they have chosen another type of test to give me? .
Perhaps you should see a therapist to deal with your hiv fixation. Otherwise your bride will have to deal with your imagined ideas about a disease that you don't have, and the marriage could suffer.
