Hiv risk

Hello everyone,

2 weeks ago, I had sex with a guy(gay). I'm on prep and I took two pills 2 hours before sex and took 2 more the day after and 48 h after as it's prescribed. He penetrated for a min until I realized he didn't put a condom. He said he is negative and he is also on prep! He also told me not to go to the clinic' mic next morning telling me I have nothing to worry about. I went to the clinic and the doctor didn't give me pep as I was on prep.

11 days later, I keep coughing because of my throat is scratchy. I have a runny nose and I feel fatigue. I did not have any fever or sore throats or rash...

Do my symptoms are indicative of ars? Did prep protected me a bit? I know I'll have to test at 4 weeks and 3 month...

Thank you

Your symptoms are not ARS related..........it would appear you have caught a cold. Your PrEP regime will help you avoid infection, which is why you're taking it. If your partner was telling the truth about also being on PrEP, then chances go even lower. Testing for any unprotected sex is a given, but especially unprotected anal. While PrEP has a high efficacy rate, infection does still happen, even if it's rare. It's better to be safe than sorry, so it's good that you plan to test.
I wish you the best.
