Is there any risk of transmission from a massage/handjob + blood?

More specifically, does "negligible" or "theoretical" risk literally mean "this has never happened"? Or does it mean "it might happen but we can't put a number on it"? I'm aware that this is an extremely unlikely event, but I had a massage + HJ from a woman (unknown status) who spoke of having a deep finger cut (with stiches) about one month prior to my massage. Is there any feasible risk from this? I also shaved my back that day (gross, sorry) and am obsessing over the possibility of blood from her cut entering a nick on my back.

We often say something is no risk because not a single person is documented to have contracted HIV in that manner.  In the exposure example you describe above, the risk is not theoretical and it is no risk as fingering is not a risk. The HIV virus is very fragile and is inactivated when exposed to air.  That she was stitched up, this means that the cut was not gaping at the time of your episode.  Therefore, what you describe is not a means of HIV transmission.  We wish you the best and are closing this thread
