HIIV THROUGH USED LANCETS

Can a person contract HIV from a used lancet in the hospital?

A lancet is not a needle used for injection as Anxiousnomore says.  It pricks you to draw blood.  So, that means it could  not transmit the virus.  It's an object and air inactivates the virus.  Injectible needles are different.   If you work in a hospital setting, I would talk to your supervisor. Health care workers normally have protocol.

No, it has to be a hollow needle that is shared and has to be an injection. It makes zero sense to think that hospitals spread hiv.
