better test again 28 days post exposure - with a 4th gen combo - and you will have a nice negative result to celebrate...almost certainly. symptoms shmymptons!
hi everybody, just want to share my experience,i am a sexually active bloke, i recently had unprotected sex and i caught CHLAMYDIA , after a week i felt itchiness discomfort and burning sensation while urinating, took 1g azithromycin and in just 3 days my discomforts gone, i was calm and relaxed after that and then i read an article about the symptoms of HIV, for two days it was stuck on my mind, and some "hiv symptoms" appeared , got sore throat for 3 day, then followed by a on and off temperature, aching joints, no rashes and swollen lymph though but i kept checking myself in the mirror, i was so paranoid so i went to a GUM clinic and done a FULL STD check, results came out today after 10 days of waiting ,, ALL CAME NEGATIVE,
i was on my GP 3 days ago and he told me that i am suffering from an ANXIETY attack, i am really amazed how ANXIETY can affect our body,
lesson learned, i will never ever do it again lol
and the best thing to know if your infected , GO TO A GUM clinic or ANY STD TESTING CENTER and have a test
dont rely on SYMPTOMS alone , it will drive you mad , insane , paranoid etc.
I still remember my Social science teacher saying "History repeats itself"
Your symptoms seems more of anxiety however I know you won't relax untill you have in black and white so in ahead get tested but that's that's gonna be for your own peace of mind
BTW there's one alternative, why don't you convince your ex for a test....Simple and easy?
Regards
Mike
Your 6 week negative is encouraging, because the vast majority of people infected will test positive by then. I would recommend you getting another test at 3 months, which is considered definitive and conclusive, and it will also put your mind at ease. Good luck.
