yea i read that to today, i guess its supposed to prevent or possibly decrease the risk. i wouldnt trust it
Wealthy Americans have no problem using condoms if they have multiple partners - for many reasons besides HIV. And those that don't bother with condoms sure enough will not bother with gels either. There is simply no market for these gels in the US.
These gels are designed to help women in the "third world", where men simply refuse to wear condoms and it's more difficult for a woman to say "no" to her partner. The idea is good, but the practical side of it is that these gels will not be cheap if they will contain ARVs. So it will not solve most of the problems for the women in the "third world"
I was talking about people who can affoard, like people living in US who are wealthy.
Please. I'm sure that women in poor villages in Africa and India will spend $10 a day on preventive gels.
Not going to happen.
I really don't know in detail but I just read it online and paste the link in here, so you guys can read it. I think that IF it will succeed then it will be a great solution to prevetion, since many people don't like condoms and they do break sometimes.
No, this is something else. There is little doubt that it will work, but it is unlikely to be a practical solution to the problem.
Is that the one that actually caused more irritation and increased transmission risks?
