Information about timely antibodies ?

Does anybody have any documented information or knowledge about those that test positive only beyond the 3 month mark - at 6 months, 9 months, 1 year?  Does a 0.01% figure sound accurate for these folks?  More?  Less?

And also, does anyone have information about the accuracy of HIV RNA Aptima testing?  I am really curious for good valid information about this test.  Everything I have read is very vague and keeps me skeptical.  I am suspicious of the clinic I go to and their advertising "99% accuracy!"  I have read false negatives with these tests are uncommon but not so with false positive readings.

I know RNA tests are used as monitoring for those known to have HIV but what has the history shown for diagnostic testing?  I read things where there is either no faith in these tests as a diagnostic tool or 100% faith.

Thoughts?  Opinions?

I have been told that occupational exposures allow 6-9 months for antibodies to show - which sounds extremely safe, but is it?  Can it show up many years later, even with RNA testing?

I have also been told 3 months is good - that a negative at 3 months is a ticket to continue a normal sex life - but then I ask, what?  What if you are that 0.01%  What about then?

Does anyone have any thoughts here?  I would appreciate any.  Thank you for your time.

did you ever play roulette in casino? I play it almost every weekend and almost win every time with taking %33 risk.

a negative result after 3 months is reliable if you don't have hepatit or another liver disease.

I'm looking forward to you posting your negative hiv results when you get them. Will this be at 3 months?
Your experience isn't on the list for contracting hiv.
Not all STDs have the same window period.
Most people have hsv1. Some herpes test are prone to false positives. All positive tests need confirmed.
Antibody levels can help determine if it's acute or something you had for awhile. For more on herpes please refer any concerns in that forum.

I am waiting for test results , I gave them blood yesterday but I am skeptical about the 3 month time frame.

My friend had herpes and did not develop antibodies until 9 months later - that is why I keep getting the RNA test along with the antibody test although I don't know how accurate it is.

I also acquired HSV in this encounter.  I am not sure if it is type 1 or type 2 yet.

I suggest going to the Drs forum and see their comments on accuracy. Lab test are 99.9?, that is pretty darn reliable. Rapid blood tests are close to same.
The Drs have repeatedly stated hiv antibody test are among the most accurate and specific out there.
Years of research and advancement in testing proves 3 months to be the standard. Concider the responsibility to establish that guideline. Our anxiety keeps telling ourselves we are the exception to the rule.
I know, I've been there.
