Testing at 5 month and one week with the oraquick is 100% accurate and conclusive.
then how come the doctors forum the doctors say its like some people can get false negative and about like 1 in 10,000 happens to them and the clinic says 99.8% accurate?
You did not understand what you read in the doctors forum.
umm can u explain it to me?
Almost everyone tests positive by 8 weeks; everyone tests positive by 3 months.
so when they talk about false positive and negative they ONLY mean during the window period?
oh and my 2nd and most likely final question: so why do clinics say 99.8% why is there .2 percent missing?
is this test oral? you put saliva to test? if yes, how come oral sex is safe?

With regards to false positives and negatives, i have read some studies which have considered the possibility that swabbing the gums more than once or too much can possibly lead to false positives. This led me to consider if doing so can also lead to false negatives. Any thoughts?
i want an answer for my question, then ban me if you want
gggggrrrrrrrrrrrrrr...it doesnt use SALIVA...it uses a fluid called oral mucosal transudate, that lives in the cheeks and gums.
The Orasure detects antibodies NOT the virus.

from your answer i conclude that oral sex is not safe. since the test uses oral mucosal transudate to find the virus which has hiv, then oral sex automatically has hiv, and is not safe.

umm guys?... my question haven't been answered yet lol...
I haven't seen a truly viable or specific question yet.

my 2nd question was why do testing clinics say its 99.8% accurate for the rapid tests?
Simply put, nothing is 100%. There are many factors for 99.8%. Some testees may have been infected sooner than they thought. Their immune responses may have been weaker than others.etc. Bottom line, the test is standardized, our immune systems are individualized. There are always outliers. If you look at it scientifically, 99.8 % is incredibly accurate and is pretty much a guarantee.

ok so what u r saying is is that as long as its not in the window period meaning after 3months the test will come back truthfully for sure?
so 99.8% becomes 100% after window period. Am i correct?
What I'm saying is that the .2 does NOT apply to you( unless you are currently in a hospital bed being infused with high-dose chemotherapy or had a stem-cell transplant).
