Just strep, or possible HIV?

I had a protected sexual encounter about 3 weeks ago, which included oral.  I felt slight nausea and noticed white bumps on the back of my throat and my tonsils.  My lymph nodes in my neck and groin were noticeably swollen as well.  I went to a doctor with these symptoms and I was tested for strep, and it came back positive.  I am now on Penicillin V (500 mg) but I am still worried as the symptoms for strep bacterial infection are very similar to those of the early stages of HIV.  The skin around my neck became very sensitive once I began the Penicillin V, but hypersensitivity is a common side effect.  What is my risk of HIV and what type of test can I get that would be accurate this early on?

All that is  truely known is that your symptoms have nothing to do with HIV.

So all of these symptoms that may seem like early contraction of HIV are strictly due to the strep throat?

You didn't have a risk of contracting HIV.
