Hiv risk from hiv test

Hello,
I am currently pregnant & went to get a insti hiv test at a local hiv clinic. I do not recall the tester removing a new lancet from the packaging and now I am concerned it was reused and I put my baby and me at risk. Is this a reasonable concern? I am making myself sick & want to enjoy my pregnancy. If the lancet was reused, can I be infected? Please help.

Thank you, I am very paranoid during this pregnancy. I just thought well it is an hiv clinic so maybe it is easier to be infected there if they reused the lancet. Should I put this behind me or retest?

You should put it behind you and concentrate on more important matters ahead of you. Like what color scheme to paint the new kid's room.
Thank you very much!

Health care professionals would not jeopardize things  like that.  They are trained for your and their own saftey.  I suggest you to not worry,  I can completely understand you are worried about your little one at this juncture. Be rest assured,
there is no valid concern here.  Every thing is okay.  You are going to be a good mom. Good Luck.

This is not a realistic concern. These labs do hundreds of blood draws a day and are bound by law to follow specific procedures for handling used sharps. If they were to not follow those rules, they would get in very big trouble and they know this. It's irrational to assume any lab worker would put their personal job or the company's reputation at stake by not following the required procedures.

Your fear that a clinic is spreading hIV is paranoid. You have no medical training, so it is unrealistic for you to think that you determined the nurse doesn't know how to do their job and unrealistic for you to think the nurse has infected people but no one but you ever figured this out.
