Manicure

I got a manicure on Sunday at a Vietnamese place. I forgot to bring my own tools so decided to let them use theirs. I saw the lady who did The manicure take the tools out of the uv light sanitizer. However she nipped me while cutting my cuticles in one finger- a very tiny nip but I did bleed. I want to know if the uv light does indeed clean the instruments if someone else used it and there was HIV earlier that day and for how long does it have to be in the uv light machine? Should I get tested for HIV due to this incident? I am so scared and cannot stop thinking about this. Also there was at least ten minutes between when I got there and when she actually used the tools.

What's the maximum amount of time HIV stays active when exposed to air and outside its host after a cuts mall cut such as bleeding from a cuticle cut? How long would it take the virus to become inactive? 5 minutes? 10 minutes?

Okay last question- I get there was no risk now but then why do doctors say "it would be so rare" if there is no chance. It's for this reason I want to know if I should be tested- to be positive I didn't get HIV??

I understand what you're saying but HIV becomes inactive as soon as it makes contact with air.The outer shell of the viral partical sh_ts itself and pops. This then doesn't allow it to latch onto the t-cell.

Ok but blood to blood in this case if they cut someone and then cut me, wouldn't pass HIV? I'm not a doctor do coming from a common sense vs logical opinion.

Water renders the HIV virus inactive. It doesn't survive outside the human body unless it's trapped in a syringe. For the last time,YOU HAD NO RISK.

How about the fact that the manicure place rinses the tools with water and then puts it in a uv light box.  It's called a mini 209 germicidal sterilizer. Is that effective? Also just so I understand please explain why there is no worry? I want to comprehend the facts so I can get this off my mind. Thank you in advance. Very much appreciated

Last question because my fear is coming from not understanding this. If there was blood on the cuticle cutter wih someone who had HIV earlier that day, even ten minutes before, and then they cut me with that same nipper how am I not at risk? I ask this cause the last time this happene my doctor made me get tested and I freaked out. Thank you in advance for answering my questions. I just don't understand the reasoning behind this
