HIV has no specific symptoms. The only way to know your status if you have had an exposure is by testing.

Thank you getitright I just see that teak is the site expert and I just want to check that you concur. Do you think any of my symptoms, especially the dizziness sound like ars? thanks

I hope so, it's a horrible situation to be in, not knowing all the facts. Thanks for your help. The hospital and police will run tests at the right time.  It's just these damn symptoms troubling me. Thanks for your help, I keep telling myself the same thing, I would have known if I was raped!

Dizziness is to common for many conditions,and you would have known if you were raped,it would have been obvious,sorry you had to go through that ordeal.Its highly unlikely that you were penetrated so no risk from this situation.

So if the dizziness were due to ars you would expect it to accompany other more classic symptoms I.e fever. I've had a very mild sore throat and a sinus infection. You see, it's difficult as it's hard to talk risks as I don't fully know what mine were. I was drugged and attacked but I don't know exactly what he did. The mild symptoms have been going on for a week, it's been 3 since the incident

The classic symptoms of ARS are very high fever,very sore throat and rash on trunk-torso and limbs.They appear 2 to for weeks after exposure and last between 4 days and 2 weeks.They don,t come and go.
