Unprotected oral sex with HIV+.

FWK
Hi guys,

On 7th June I had unprotected oral several times with one guy. On the 20th of June I met him again and we performed same sexual activity. He did not cum in both times, not sure about pre-cum though. Also I do have some bleeding gums from timeto time, not sure on those two occasions if they occured.

I tested on 30th June for a different purpose altogether, and got negative results for HIV (insti), syphillis, Chlamydia and Gon.

Yesterday 13th July I started experiencing swollen glands and a lot of muscle back and leg aches(I went for back gym excersises day before as well), and I do suffer from sinuses, change of weather affects me as well.

I was chatting to the guy and he told me he is HIV positive and undetecatable. He said I shouldn't worry or get paranoid because we haven't done anything risky and no ejaculation.

I asked him why he diddn't tell me before, been a month and he said coz he liked me now he told me, don't understand although I told, him I have a partner, still confused about it. He assumed I was positive because I had HIV meds in my drawer (I took these for PEP before..u can read in my previous posts....hence my latest test).

1) Is my test on 30th June enough to clear STD's but not HIV? 10 days only after 2nd exposure
2) Can someone explain what undetecatable is? He is on medication and very healthy.

3) How big is my risk is? if someone can assist me here?

Thanks and Regards,
FWK

Hi Vance,

Thanks, I just got scared especially when I was in switzerland, the Dr first question was 'did I have unprotected oral sex'? and then her shock at seeing and touching my nodes, and hearing my voice....

Thanks a lot, I guess I have to wait and test.

Thanks and Regards,

Hi guys,

I am still worried about this. last week I got swollen nodes that expanded a lot, coudln't breathe or swallow, they were so red and huge,
and since I was in switzerland I went to clinic there, they took a CBC count and found the following on the high:
C-reaktives protein 16.
MCV 97
Leukocyte 13.1 (normal: 3.8-10.7)
Monocyte absolute 1.10 (normal: 0.3-.0.8)
Granulocyte absolute 9.70 (normal:1.2-6.8)

The rest were within normal crieteria.
The dr said it is viral infection and said my middle ear is blocked as well, nothign going through to my nazal passage, so gave me ibuprofen and
nasal spray and a gragle for the mouth. The minute i took ibuprofen I suffered a rash on feet first, then hands, under arms (covered big section), elbows and side of back, thighs...ofcourse I thought HIV rash.
I went back to Dr and he prescribe another medicine (forgot the name), this one worked but i have to take it and DR said take it when in pain.
I relived my rash with anti histamin (Zertek) and only took one, seemed to work.

I am still thinking it is HIV related, and I am not near my test yet as it is 4 weeks fromt the 20th?
Not sure what to do. I still have my glands but not as bad, and swallowing seems so hard, even for water, could this be something else I am not aware of?

My Lymphocyte percentage is only 18.1% (17-48%), isn't that low as well? lymphocyte as I read are responsible for CD4 and T-cells?

Apologies if I am bothering you again.
Thansk and Regards,
FWK

Can someone (preferably a doctor or healthcare specialist) please clarify if I can stop worrying after two Negative HIV Tests:

1. Once using ELISA 4 weeks after unprotected sex
2. Second time using PCR RNA for HIV I&II 70 days after unprotected sex

the encounter was with a longtime girlfriend who is married to someone else. I did get chancroid post the encounter six months back and my life has been hell since then even though the infection cleared up with antibiotic treatment.

Hi james,

Thanks very much again.

Aslo for Q1: Is my test on 30th June enough to clear STD's but not HIV? 10 days only after 2nd exposure or do I test again specifically for STD's. I understand this should be posted on a sepaarte forum as well so can do this if more appropriate.

Thanks and Regards,

Also, you do not need to apologize for bothering me, because you did not bother me. I understand anxiety.

Yes, the RNA test is designed for those who have already been diagnosed.

In order for oral to even be a small risk, you need absolutely terrible oral health, not your run of the mill bad gums.

Hi JamesD,

Thanks for the fast response. Is an RNA test specific for HIV positive people?

Are you telling me I do not need to test because I have no  risk at all, even if I have sores, bleeding gums etc....
just getting worried and upset I wasn't informed before, sorry to bother you again.

Thanks and Regards,
FWK

Undetectable basically means that not enough virus is in the body to be picked up on an RNA test. So he basically tests negative on RNA tests.

You do not need to test over the incidents you describe.
