NEW HIV GROUPS- PLEASE READ

In an attempt to divert some of the off-topic and excessive posting that we receive in the HIV Prevention Community, and to better serve MH users, I have created two new HIV groups.

The HIV Anxiety Support group is intended for members who are suffering from anxiety over HIV and need a supportive environment to ventilate their fears. In this forum, those who have been provided a risk assessment in the HIV Prevention Community and still need to discuss their fears may do so with other members.

The HIV Current Topics group is intended for members who are interested in discussing the latest research on HIV, such as treatments, vaccines, diagnosis, etc.

Both HIV Prevention Community users and volunteers are invited to join. Please note that these forums are not intended for personal advice on HIV risk, testing, or prevention, and neither myself nor any of the other volunteers will monitor these forums for accuracy. However, I intend to periodically check them for violations of MH's community standards, and will participate in discussions on a case-by-case basis.

Hopefully, this will allow volunteers to divert some of the off-topic traffic that we receive in the HIV Prevention Community, and allow MH users an appropriate venue for discussion.

Below are links to the new groups:

Again, just to recap the purpose of the two new HIV Groups:

If you have been given a risk assessment and are having trouble accepting it, or are anxious over waiting for your 3 month test, and need to continue to express your fears, then you may do so in the HIV Anxiety Support forum:

http://www.medhelp.org/forums/HIV-Anxiety-Support/show/595

If you have a research article or recent news items that you want to discuss, then you may do so in the HIV Current Topics forum:

http://www.medhelp.org/forums/HIV-Current-Topics/show/596

Please DO NOT post references to research articles or information from other websites in the HIV Prevention Community in an attempt to debate its advice. The answers here WILL NOT change.

Both groups have been set up to allow members to engage in free-form discussions. All views are welcome; censorship will generally be limited to clear violations of MH's community standards.
