Scared silly

April 24 2015 I had a short procedure at the local hospital. After waking up and talking to husband for about 5-10 minutes they told me to go get dressed to go home. They gave me nothing to put on my feet and when I got out of bed to go get dressed I noticed that I had stepped on a large drop of blood. I know it was not mine because I had nothing done to produce blood and the I.v. Was on the other arm but had been removed prior to waking up and in another room. I had dry cracked feet at the time and I am petrified that the blood may have been hiv + and when I talked to medical people they just tell me not to worry. I am so freaked out that I am in therapy and even my shrink said not to worry. My doc does not seem to think a test is warranted. I am afraid to be around my grandkids in case I am positive. Last evening I went outside in my driveway barefoot and stepped on something that made me bleed all over the concrete and to calm me down my husband scrubbed the areas with bleach and water then hosed the driveway off with plain water. I am scared about the grands coming today because they always play out there.
Please advise ASAP. Thank you.

Transmission does not occur outside the confines of two bodies. Once HIV is exposed to air, it is unable to infect

Your doctor is right. Testing isn't warrantee cause you didn't have a risk.
