Hi there,
If you have unprotected anal sex with someone of unknown status, you are at risk only if he has HIV.
Not all STIs will surface with the signs and symptoms and can be tested. A person can go for a routine blood test for HIV, Syphilis, Hepatitis B and C after the 3rd month. In addition, a Herpes blood test can be reliable if done under the Type Specific Serology Test (HSV TSST) for Herpes but it may not be widely available. This screens for previous exposure to the virus.
All other forms of blood test are not reliable to detect for other STIs.
The window period for HIV is between 1 to 3 months after an exposure. A person can go for a HIV ELISA or Rapid test earliest 1 month after an exposure and retest at the 3rd month for a conclusive result. Most people would be negative when the HIV test is repeated at the 3rd month. A test at the 3rd month would be good to conclude.
For your one time incident, your risk is low.
I would advise taking an hiv test for several reasons Lonely Gentlemen, the first thing is the person you had sex with engages in unprotected intercourse with strangers/you engaged in unprotected intercourse a stranger of unknown status, your being the receptive partner is a high risk. Who knows if this is something he does on a regular basis L.G? A test at three months is a must and please do a better job of protecting yourself from hiv in the future. I'd also recommend an std battery as well. Never trust the honor system when it comes to meeting with a stranger for unprotected intercourse L.G., it seems that you are still in contact with him-maybe you can ask him to take a test while you are present in the mean time.

i cant function correctly...im glad to hear someone thinks im at low-risk, but is there such thing in a case like this?
I have no idea where you think you had a low risk exposure but you didn't. You had a high risk exposure and it doesn't matter that he didn't ejaculate or not. You state that you are 20 and gay, then you don't have any excuses for the risk you took. A condom used correctly and consistently with plenty of water base lube would have prevented all of the. You'll need to test at 3 months post exposure to obtain a conclusive test result. Start using the head on your shoulders instead of the head between your legs or it will be no time that you'll be testing positive.
i know. This is not like me at all i was defintly thinking with my ****:( ive learned my lesson lets just hope everything turns out alright.
Engaging in intercourse in these settings leaves no room for error Lonely-gentlemen. I do hope everything turns out well for you though man-get tested and start being safe every time man.
oh i will i defintly learned my lesson i just hope im not doomed for one STUPIDDD mistake i made:( still freraking out 4 days after
Honestly this was a serious risk you have taken with your life, but that does not mean hiv transmission is a given either Lonely-Gentleman, so keep that in mind.
