Oraquick and False Negatives

What causes a false negative on oraquick outside of window period? I took this test outside of the window period, and followed the instructions, but I am still concerned with the possibility of a false negative, given orasures provided false negative percentage. Thanks

The false negative rate is extremely low, and is often attributed to improper testing technique, or testing while still in the window period.  If you tested at least 90 days after your risk encounter, you can be confident in your results and move on.
