Oraquick home test

hi

i used the oraquick home test. my question is that is it ok to use both sides of the pad but only once (1 side for each gum)? or do we need to use only one side of the pad (for both gums)

You have nothing to be concerned about...for one, you've never had a risk, so you couldn't be positive anyway, secondly...the test results would be valid.  You have to grossly misuse the test to not get valid results, and most times, that would show in the control line feature of the test.

Time to put this behind you.

i called an confirmed that it is fine to use both (or only) one side of the pad. the british version of this test also confirms this.

just fyi for those who are interested in using this product.

i read this forum and surely learned a lot. please keep up the good work.

has anyone used here used this equipment before? i am not overly anxious, just want to make sure my result is reliable (the customer support says it was, for some reason the verbiage in the instructions is bugging me)

i was just doing a general check up (have always used condoms).

if the customer support told me my performance was correct can i be sure of the result (i specifically asked them about this)

I'm sure it's fine.  These tests are marketed to allow for a good bit of the human element, inconsistencies, etc.  If you remain concerned, you can always go to a clinic and have a test done.  What was your exposure?

source of my confusion

"You just gently swipe the pad along your upper gums once and your lower gums once. Make sure you
swipe each gum only once or your results could be wrong. You can use either side of the pad."

the instructions were a bit confusing. it said "you can use either side of the pad". i called them and they said it is fine to use both sides or only one side as long as each gum is swabbed once.

curious if anyone else has used this equipment like i did (used both sides)
