Very very worried.

I am from India, The biggest blunder I did in my life was having an unprotected vaginal sex with some random friend woman, which after few weeks I found is positive. I have hardly slept, all day long just been googling and I m going totally mental. I have come to a stage where now I believe I am positive. This was 65 days back and now I have a bad sore throat from last 14 days which doctor seems to be bacterial but no thrush..I have done the following test but I am still not convinced please advice, day by day I seem to be going crazy::
Day 35: Elisa ab/ag - non reactive
Day 45: cmia ab/ag- non reactive
Day 55: cmia ab/ag- non reactive
Day 63: cmia ab/ag- non reactive.
I m going to test again on day 75..
What do you guys think, where do I stand..
Anxiety is killing me..
Please help.

Hello, as our member has stated, you've already had several negative conclusive tests.  No one here would know why the lab is having a day in which results are ready later than usual but this most likely has nothing at all to do with you specifically.  As you've tested negative, this should give you reassurance that your 90 day test will also be negative.

We wish you the best and are closing this thread.

Then why delay in my test results which I usually get promptly and answer given saying that blood is being re tested again..re testing usually happens where there is an intermediate result or positive result!!

My worst nightmare may be turning true, with the above tests which I had done..today supposed to be the 90 the day of my exposure went for an eclia test. Usually reports are given by 5 in the evening. And when it was delayed I called them they said my blood samples are being rechecked and reports will only be given tomorrow!!does this mean I am positive, all the combo test I did after window period holds no value?? Tonite is gonna be really hard for me to sleep till I get my reports now!!

Seek therapy or talk to your doctor, because you are not accepting any of the advice, so it is an HIV phobia that you suffer from. Your problem is not disease, it is mental issues that you need to talk to a professional about.

Thank you all appreciate your answers, these answers would definitely subside my anxiety for a few days.. eventually am a human being..mentally I am kinda convinced, but anxiety and fear is what messes me up. Even the lab guy is tired seeing me come this often..

You dodged the bullet! Negative at 45 days meant conclusive. As my fellow posters have already told you, you are in the clear.

Let me try and give you some logic here, if you were to be infected, you would have sero-converted around 21 days (around 3 weeks) post that the body starts producing detectable amount of antibodies hence by 4 week (around 28 days) you would have yielded a positive result. The good news is you tested till 63 days that's a lot of buffer, by then detectable amount of antibodies couldn't be a miss unless, you have cancer and you're on chemotherapy leading to a compromised immune system.

HIV is a fragile virus, odds of contraction in one episode of M to F unprotected exposure is said to be 1:1000. It's certainly not necessary if you had intercourse with a positive individual you would for sure contract the virus, though the risk is high. However, some people get saved, you're one of them.

I can certainly understand the fear you must be going through, seek counseling for it, have faith you didn't contract the virus,You can't dodge bullets every time. Use condoms correctly and consistently. You are okay. Bach Gaya Tu !:D

The FACT is if you had HIV virus (which you don't) it would be detected by now. You have taken modern day HIV tests at the right time.

Hey, we share the same worries! I had the exposure 76 days back. While the expert opinions will pour in, let me assure you that the response will remain the same, i.e hiv duo cmia - ab/ag test is reliable and conclusive post 28 days. So calm down and relax. I know what you are going through at this stage, and it's tough to accept the results. But tests overrule all the symptoms and doubts. All the best and stay well! Work on your anxiety and also help your friend (whom you found is positive).

STOP TESTING.

You have OVERTESTED.  If you keep testing, eventually you may get a false positive - and it would be FALSE, as your 35 day test was conclusive.  You didn't need any more tests after that.  It is time to accept the fact that you did not get HIV from this event, and move on.
